Optimism: first helicopter flight and the 2nd fiscal quarter….
Historically, the second quarter has always been busy for me, and I'm pleased to report that this year is on track! However, please check back with me on June 30th. I hope the trend remains this way, especially considering the concerns my clients have regarding tariffs, shipping constraints, hostile buyouts, and more.
On April 7th, two crazy events occurred: a frost left me scraping my windshield before departing into rush hour traffic to start photography for the first day of “Seasonal” for Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman. Yes, it is Christmas time already. Christmas AND a frost in April. Who would have guessed? My poor tomatoes…
On top of rolling right into holiday merchandise, I have had a few smaller accounts that consisted of tabletop product photography. I have been shooting those jobs in the evenings and weekends. Ya know, life/work balance. Haha.
The highlight of the month was when RD Thomas Advertising Agency in Lubbock, TX, contacted me for a project with United’s Market Street grocery store chain. I enjoyed shooting outside for two days, especially with the mild weather we had here in Texas. I photographed both the interior and exterior of all nine Market Street stores in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. It required a lot of hustle and driving around, but it was a great experience to be out of the studio. I'm posting pictures of all nine stores below. Check to see if your store is featured!
Lastly, my other April highlight was an impromptu trip to Charleston, SC. I took my very first helicopter flight, and of course my husband Cory was my pilot, making my maiden voyage even more special. I also worked on some photo projects during my trip. More about that later. If you’re in the Charleston area, book a flight with Cory at https://www.flyhelitours.com/charleston
I have more projects on the horizon. So be sure to stay tuned. Happy Spring and Merry Christmas!
